Why finance

Don't let cost delay protecting your home

A root barrier is preventative work, every season you defer it, the roots advance. The cost of monitoring cracks, repeated repairs or, worst case, an underpinning bill, dwarfs the cost of a barrier installed at the right time.

Finance lets you act now and pay over months or years, so the work is done before damage escalates and before your insurer flags the property as a risk.

How it works

Three steps from quote to install

Get a fixed quote

We survey your site for free and issue a written, fixed-price quote, same for cash, card or finance.

Choose a plan

Pick the term that suits you. Plans are arranged through FCA-authorised UK lenders at the point of accepting your quote.

We install

Once finance is approved, we book your install. You start repayments after the work is complete.

What's covered

What you can finance

  • Site survey fee (refundable against the install)
  • Barrier supply and installation
  • Excavation, plant hire and waste removal
  • Reinstatement, turf, planting, paving
  • Written workmanship guarantee from your installer

Insurance route

Already have a subsidence claim?

If your insurer has accepted a subsidence claim involving tree roots, the barrier work is usually paid for directly by the insurer or scheme contractor, finance isn't needed. Finance is for owners outside a claim, owners covering an excess, or anyone who wants to act preventatively before a claim is necessary.

Common finance questions

Finance FAQ

Who can apply?

UK homeowners aged 18+ in permanent employment or with verifiable income. All applications are subject to status and credit checks by the lender, not by us.

Do I need a deposit?

Most plans don't require one, but putting some money down reduces the borrowed amount and the monthly cost. Your installer can model both scenarios in your quote.

Can I settle early?

Yes, every regulated finance agreement allows early settlement. On 0% plans there are no early-repayment fees; on interest-bearing plans, settling early reduces the total interest paid.

Will checking eligibility hurt my credit?

Initial soft checks have no impact on your credit file. A full application performs a hard credit search, which lenders record.

Is the quote price the same with finance?

Yes. The installation price doesn't change whether you pay upfront, by card, or via finance.

Important

Root Barriers is not a lender or credit broker. Finance, when offered, is provided by FCA-authorised third-party lenders. All plans are subject to status and affordability checks.
